WHAT I FOUND IN LAKELAND FLORIDA
I Guess I have seen and experienced too much IN MY LIFE.
I write this because there are some who desire to know my opinion on the Lakeland outpouring as I just returned from there.
My opinion has no bearing on the subject and I choose to watch my words as I tell my story. God is doing something in Lakeland. I only offer my observation as it pertains to my experience in Lakeland.
Although I am not a revival chaser……..I desired to go to “check out” what everyone was saying is a revival and what some say is the revival that has been prophesied for years now. HMMMM!(?)
I agree that God is moving, and He is moving in Lakeland. The Father’s desire is to touch, heal and bless…….for the purpose of saving souls. God is absolutely involved in touching lives, and healing bodies and (while we wait for documentation, raising the dead.) Now mind you I witnessed no resurrections, but I did hear testimony of 25 resurrections in 73 days…….and heard testimonies of healings as I sat in what had been declared a night of miracles. This was a smaller scale less intense miracle service then what Benny Hinn conducts. I have sat in meetings of Benny Hinn where the tangible presence of God far surpassed these meetings in Lakeland, as did the manifested miracles. (I guess I have seen and experienced too much in my life……I am so blessed.)
Roy Fields the worship leader is excellent in my opinion and definitely knows how to work with the Holy Spirit to pull in the presence of God, (he is much like Lyndell Cooley of the Brownsville Revival.) In fact the Praise and Worship was my favorite of the meetings. However, I am blessed to have a worship leader in my own church who can pull heaven into earth and terrorize devils…..and leave you weeping in travail in the altar. (I guess I have seen and experienced too much in my life…….I am so blessed. )
I attended two meetings and found it interesting that there was nothing there to compel me to want neither to stay nor to desire to attend more meetings…..and yet God is moving there.
However, I found myself during those meetings saying God there is more, there must be more, this isn’t it, and this is not enough. My “opinion” is, these meetings if compared to the Brownsville Revival (which I was never blessed to attend) do not compare to the intensity I experienced when I simply watched the videos of Brownsville. I also find it VERY INTERESTING that during these meetings in Lakeland both Todd Bentley and Patricia King made reference to past revivals and the desire to see God do what He did through people like, Maria Woodworth-Etter, Kathryn Kuhlman, Smith Wigglesworth, Jonathan Edwards, Martin Luther, etc. Although this Lakeland Outpouring has been called the revival we’ve prayed for and the one that has been prophesied about for years … IT STILL DOESN’T COMPARE TO THE PAST??? HMMMMMM! Well, the revival I am holding out for is the one I carry in the womb of my spirit, the one that surpasses everything previous. The God I serve always does more not less and He will again in this generation. JUST WATCH!
Am I disappointed in my trip to Lakeland? NO! I am quite satisfied and gratified. I found that what was happening there is normal church as I know it. A good friend asked me to bring it back to Shreveport, I would have except it is already here and has been for quite some time…..and we have for the most part failed to acknowledge it…….. not only in my ministry but I am certain in other ministries in my city. Lakeland offers nothing we are not already seeing here….Lakeland is simply publicized and therefore draws crowds. Todd Bentley has been a name known for years by many which always makes a difference in how the majority responds and receives a ministry. He preached a great message on Friday night but certainly a “reminder” message not fresh manna. (But I guess I have seen and experienced too much in my life……..I am so blessed.) And yet, I truly enjoyed his message and was stirred by it….and find him to be anointed to do what he does. The most satisfying of the Lakeland trip was finding I am right on time, right in line with God and I am right in the flow of His river. Praise God!
Were there weird manifestations? Not during the two services I attended. There was a lady present who needed the devil cast out of her, but no one did that. (This was while Patricia King was ministering.) A GOOD DEVIL CASTING OUT SERVICE IS AWESOME! and we need a revival of that.
I am not in any way trying to be critical, that is not my intention. Should you go to Lakeland? If you desire to experience it…and are not really accustom to or experiencing His tangible presence already. However, if God is moving in your house of faith, don’t judge it as being insignificant just because it may not draw a few thousand…..you have yet to see what He is going to do right where you are. Honor the Candle Servant God has set in your house because you might be following an end time/in time reforming revivalist. And again, Lakeland is NOT “THE” pure revival of God that is yet to come.
I guess I have seen and experienced to much in my life……each year I host a “Prophetic Advance” where the presence of God and His working and dealing with lives as well as the healings and deliverances far surpass anything I have seen from Lakeland or most places….(it’s simply not publicized)……not to mention what God does on a regular basis through this ministry in Shreveport. When people visit our church they often say that we are in revival………I guess it just hasn’t dawned on us yet. I am certain if He is doing it here for this ministry He is doing the same in many places. I will not be returning to Lakeland (unless the Lord requires) because I have decided to build on the revival I have right here…….and give birth to His “passion” for this generation. If I cannot find it some place else, I will birth it myself. There is SO MUCH MORE!
